Changing lives by connecting hearts to Jesus Christ.

Men's Group

West Heights Men's Group is an informal group of men who gather monthly for a meal and short business meeting and sometimes a special program. The Men's Group is also a service group active in the church and in the community.

Attendance at monthly meetings remains strong with an average of 12 to 16, and the number of active members at 35.

Highlights for 2009 include:

  1. Supplying the sanctuary with hearing aids for worship attendees. Eight high quality devices that receive and relay sound directly from the main sound system were purchased and are used regularly by members and visitors alike.
  2. Reviving the church calendar program with advertising for member and local businesses on a 12-month calendar with the birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events for those in the congregation who chose to participate.
  3. Numerous home repair projects via the Handyman Program of the Men’s Group. Recipients included members of the congregation, retired pastors, and members of the community at large.
  4. Putting on annual events such as Easter breakfast and October Bierochfest as well as other meal prep and/or clean-up opportunities.
  5. Organizing and leading the 16th Annual Fall Fling which raised over $18,000
  6. Adoption of a family in need for the holiday season.
