Graduation Games

A Fellowship Night for both groups High Way & Work Zone

Hula-Hands-Off Relay: Have teammates form a straight line and hold hands. Place a Hula Hoop over the head of the person at the front of the line. Then have the team members get the Hula Hoop to the end of the line and back to the beginning without letting go of each other's hands. Kids may not grab the Hula Hoop; they must "wiggle" and climb through it until it reaches the next person. The first team to get the Hula Hoop back to the front of the line wins.

Shuffle Your Buns: Classic

Pool Noodle Shuffle Your Buns: The chairs are arranged in a circle. (We find a carpeted room sometimes works better.) One person is It and stands in the center of the circle. Everyone else sits down on a chair. One chair should be empty. The object of the game is for the sitting players to prevent IT from whacking them while occupying the empty chair before they sit in it. They do this by 'hustling their buns' and moving either left or right to occupy the empty chair before It can sit down. Players may only move one chair left or right. Eventually someone isn't fast enough and It sits down. The person on his or her left (or right) now becomes 'It'. For fun try two Its and two empty chairs.

Wink-um: Classic

I Like Circle:  This activity is like musical chairs in that everyone but one person is sitting down in a circle of chairs. When everyone in your group is present have them sit in the circle with no empty seats. You stand in the middle. Explain that when the game starts one person will be left without a seat just like you are at the moment. The person in the middle says, "I like everyone in this circle especially those who..." (you get to insert something like are wearing white or have two brothers) Everyone who fits the qualification has to then switch seats. They have to switch at least a couple seat away from the one that they were in. You take one of their seats and who ever is left without a seat is in the middle.

Cats & Dogs: Inflate balloons-30 more than the total number of group members. Place the balloons in large plastic trash bags and set them aside.

Divide into two teams; One Cats, One Dogs. Pour out an even amount at each end of the gym. Pass out markers and have each person decorate the balloons to look like a Cat for the cat team or a Dog for the dog team.

After the balloons are decorated, have teams each stand on opposite sides of the gym. Then distribute the balloons in the area between so there is an even amount of balloons on each side. Tell the kids the idea is for them to go and find their teams balloons and heard them to the other side without using their hands or carrying them in any way. They may stomp any balloon that is not one of theirs to prevent it from getting to the other side. The team with the most live critters after all have been cleared from the neutral area is the winner.

Ups & Downs: Put your youth group into two teams, one side is the up side and the other side is the down side you place cups in the middle all around. Yell "Start" and each teams has to see how many cups they can turn over or set up. For ex. the ups side has to get all the cups turned up while the downs side are turning them over at the end you count and see which team won, so it there is 20 cups turned over then the down side wins.
