At West Heights UMC, we believe that children are a unique and unrepeatable gift from God. Each child is precious to us. We offer the following opportunities for children 5th grade and under to connect to God and each other.
Sunday Mornings 9:15-10:15 am, Room E013
Whether you’ve heard it called Sunday school, small group, or life groups, Sunday mornings for children at West Heights are FUN! Through activities, videos, crafts, and stories, children learn that God loves them. They also make friends and start to realize that church isn’t a building, it’s the people that make a church.
Our children’s small group time is named Club 2:52, for Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Children ages 3 years through 5th grade meet and learn through video, crafts, activities, and stories while building friendship.
Wednesday Evenings 6:15-7:30 pm (During the school year)
Our Wednesday evening activity is The Rock. In The Rock, we’ll grow together in our faith while meeting new friends. If you haven’t tried church before, The Rock is a great way to get your child involved. Children begin with music in room E024. It is located downstairs. After music, children participate in large group Bible story time, recreation time in the Rock Zone (with Wii, basketball goal, foosball, and more) and activities. Children ages 3 years (by Sept. 1, 2016) through 5th grade are invited to attend.
Faith is an individual journey and you and your child can choose how to plug in. Each program offers a different type of atmosphere to help them grow.
Would you like to help your child start their faith journey but don’t know how? Then take the first step. Call or email Jackie Jewett, our Children’s Ministry Director to set up a time to visit. We’ll make sure they have someone to make them feel at home.
