Scholarship Program
In 2016, the West Heights UMC Educational Foundation was created by a generous, anonymous church member. Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors and those continuing their education in under graduate college classes, graduate or vocational schools.

The foundation is governed by a Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications and approves all awards. Scholarship applications are accepted only during the application window, which will be announced every spring. Award checks are typically issued before the beginning of the fall and spring semesters (twice a year). Students may apply each year. If you are currently a high school senior or applying for a scholarship for the first time, please submit the First Year Application. If you have received a West Heights scholarship, please submit the Scholarship Continuation Application.
In addition to the individual scholarship awards, up to $10,000 of the available scholarship funds are designated each year for the Senior Pastor and Youth Director to each nominate a student for a special scholarship award, which is then brought back to the Scholarship Committee for a vote.

Our 2026 Scholarship Award Sunday is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2026 10:00 am.
Applications are due on April 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm CST. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be notified by or before Wednesday, April 27, 2026. If you are awarded a scholarship, you are strongly encouraged to attend the May 17, 2026 service. If you’re not able to attend this service, please let us know as soon as possible.
