WHUMC Orchard Watering

Hello orchard stewards!  It is time to resume watering our growing fruit trees and bushes each week.  To give them the best chance to survive and thrive, we need to maintain a regular schedule for watering.

The fruit trees need 10 gallons of water each week, applied in two applications.  Fill a 5 gallon bucket and SLOWLY pour around the tree soaking the outer mulch ring and the center.  Do this twice for each tree.  The cherry bushes only need 5 gallons of water each week, so you will only fill the bucket once for each bush.  The only time you do NOT need to water is if there has been an inch of rain during the week prior to your watering day.  The spigot key is with the hose reel on the east side of the building and the buckets and hose are in the garage.
